The SMCDSB theme for Bullying Prevention Week 2017 is
Our Story ~ Our Footprint
with a focus on kind practices in all areas of our lives. This year's theme is meant to help students to be self-reflective and to leave footprints of love and kindness wherever they go.
MONDAY - LEAD THE WAY - BE KIND...JUST BECAUSE
On Monday, we will kick off our campaign with an announcement about participating in our "Be Kind....Just Because" Campaign. How does it work? Staff and students can submit nominations to the Kind Kids draw box in the office. "Caught Being Kind" nomination forms will be collected throughout the week. Two names will be drawn on Friday, and those two students will receive "Be Kind...Just Because" T-Shirts. Each day, we will choose random nomination forms to share acts of kindness over the announcements.
TUESDAY - OUR DIVERSE FAMILY
Tuesday we celebrate our uniqueness as members of God's family. Staff and students are invited to wear crazy and colourful socks to showcase their individuality. Tuesday is a day to celebrate and show that our differences are what makes our school, our community, our world - GREAT!
WEDNESDAY - COOL TO BE KIND
On Wednesday, staff and students will be creating Kindness Postcards, performing Random Acts of Kindness using Kindness Boards, and participating in other community building activities that encourage all schools to come together for a cause.
THURSDAY - ONLINE...BE KIND
On Thursday, we will be creating personal hashtags that represent our positive character traits, and taking part in a Twitter contest using the hashtags #leaveyourmark #kindiscool and #bekindjustbecause. Be sure to follow us on Twitter if you don't already at @SMCDSB_HFA
FRIDAY - #LEAVEYOURMARK
On Friday, students will create a goal related to how they wish to #leavetheirmark.
