Prayer For Students and Teachers

Lord in Heaven,

Help us never to forget the beauty in a child.

Never let us forget the wonder and trust and yearning in their bright, twinkling eyes.

Help us to remember that we are shaping the lives of tomorrow’s generation.

Give us love to overcome adversity.

Give us patience to overcome trials.

Give us wisdom to overcome shortcomings.

Give us faith to overcome problems.

And, as these children prepare to begin kindergarten,

Bless them and all who care for them.

Amen.

Catholic School Community Council

School councils play a vital role in our Catholic school communities. They are shining examples of open communications and partnerships between all key stakeholders – parents, students, teachers, principals, parishes and members of the broader community. We chose to call our school councils Catholic School Community Councils (CSCCs) because the name reflects our common faith and emphasizes the importance of community.

Our CSCCs provide a forum for parents and other members of the school community to contribute to the improvement of student achievement and school performance. The councils make recommendations to principals and the Board on matters they believe relevant. We consult with CSCCs on a range of matters that affect student learning and consider recommendations made by the councils. Whether through attending local CSCC meetings, sharing ideas and information with fellow CSCCs from other schools, or partaking in various Board initiatives, we have found parents’ advice to be extremely thoughtful, caring and beneficial to enriching the fabric of students’ learning and faith development.

What are the benefits of becoming involved on a CSCC?

How can you become a member of a CSCC?

The membership of our school councils changes from year to year. Potential new members will be recruited for election, so be sure to let your interest be known to your school's principal or current members of your school's CSCC.  We always strive for our councils to reflect the diversity of the school. The majority of our CSCCs consist of parents, but will also include the principal or vice-principal, one teacher, one non-teaching staff member, one student (optional for elementary level) and other community representation.

If you are interested in participating on the CSCC at your child’s school, please contact the principal directly.
